“Ssak-teum” Hall (Sprouting Hall)

We first went into the Ssak-teum Hall on the right side of the building!!

You can learn about various Korean native flowers, watch a short film about endangered native species, and there’s a coloring area where you can color flower drawings with colored pencils!!

“Um-teum” Hall (Budding Hall)

Next we looked around the Um-teum Hall on the left side! Here you’ll find displays about Korean native flowers that have spread abroad and detailed explanations about them.

We zipped through Um-teum, too! haha
Both Ssak-teum and Um-teum aren’t very large, so you can see them pretty quickly!!

“Pi-um” Hall (Blooming Hall) – Glass Conservatory

Go up the stairs from the main building and you’ll find the path to the Pi-um Hall conservatory. We had a stroller, so we took the stair-free walkway on the left up to Hwaseong Woori Flower Botanical Garden’s glasshouse!!

Pi-um Hall is a glass conservatory and it was bigger than I thought!! Inside, there were more trees and various plants than flowers.

The conservatory is warm even in winter and well maintained, so I think seniors would also enjoy strolling here! haha

There’s running water in the middle and all that greenery puts you in a good mood! Mideum was totally in “serious visitor” mode ♥ After a nap she woke up happy and waved her hands excitedly! haha Come to Hwaseong Woori Flower Botanical Garden!! haha

Fountain Plaza

In front of Pi-um Hall is the Fountain Plaza. It wasn’t running because of the cold weather, but there were so many colorful native flowers blooming. With Snow White, the seven dwarfs, and even deer statues, it feels like a fairy tale—perfect for cute photos!! haha

Ecological Pond

When you exit the conservatory, there’s an ecological pond on the left side!! If you follow the pond path straight ahead, you’ll reach a lovely outdoor flowerbed!

Outdoor Flowerbeds

The reeds are beautiful and the foliage is gorgeous—there are lots of photo spots outdoors, so it’s perfect for getting those cozy fall shots!!

There are colorful flowers and photo zones here and there, so our pictures came out so pretty!! haha

Bridge into the Forest

If you cross the bridge, you’ll be on the way to Deunggosan (a small hill). Even after the bridge, the outdoor garden is so nicely made!! If only this were our home garden—how nice would that be!! haha

Deunggosan (Hill) in the Garden

Hwaseong Woori Flower Botanical Garden20221026 122424 1

I really, really wanted to climb Deunggosan as soon as I saw it!! But it was under construction, so it wasn’t accessible ㅠ

If you want to see the viewpoint at the top, please visit after December 1, 2022!! Also, strollers aren’t allowed there for safety!! ㅠ

Besides Deunggosan, there are places like the Alpine Wetland, Forest Experience Hall, Play Forest, Bamboo (Ojuk) Path, and Birch Garden on the left side—but the paths are a bit tough with a stroller, so we couldn’t see everything. A little bit sad ㅠ

Genetic Resource Propagation Garden

At Hwaseong Woori Flower Botanical Garden, they collect, propagate, plant, and manage rare and endangered native plant genetic resources!!

Vine Garden / Fern Garden / Medicinal Garden

There are outdoor flowerbeds stretching behind the conservatory, and if you keep going you’ll come to the Vine Garden, Fern Garden, and Medicinal Garden!! It has a different vibe from the Deunggosan side and is nice for a relaxed stroll!

Lawn Square / Children’s Experience Hall

There are play structures where kids can run around, plus a wide lawn, so it looks great for school or daycare picnics!

If you go a bit further from the outdoor square, there’s a Children’s Experience Hall, but it wasn’t operating when we visited!! We just took a quick photo at the trick-art spot next door! haha

Nursing Room

It’s on the 2nd floor of the exhibition building! There’s no elevator, so you have to use the stairs, which is a bit inconvenient ;; Still, there’s a diaper changing table, microwave, and a baby bed, so feeding Mideum her baby food went smoothly! Lately she’s been learning dance moves from dad, so after eating she did a happy little dance! haha

Overall & Recommendation

Some facilities feel a bit dated, but overall maintenance is good, and there are lots of pretty photo spots and plants, so we really liked it!! If you want to soak in the fall mood with lovely Korean native flowers and your kid, I highly recommend Hwaseong Woori Flower Botanical Garden for a weekend outing near Suwon, Hwaseong, and Ansan!!
